Children’s Choir Policies
Attendance
To have a successful Children’s Choir program, regular attendance is vital. Choir directors will be taking attendance each week. This will allow us to stay in touch with absentees and minister to the children and their families when needed.
Regular attendance is critical to learning and preparation for presentations. Children with intermittent attendance will miss important practice time. We want your child to be well prepared to sing and minister with confidence. We do not want to place your child in a situation where they are uncomfortable or unable to contribute. Please be faithful in your child’s attendance and make every effort to contact their director when they must be absent.
Dress Rehearsals
Dress rehearsals are critical to the final preparation of a presentation. Absence from a dress rehearsal can jeopardize a child’s ability to be in the right place at the right time and contribute effectively to the presentation. Such absences are unfair to the students whose families have made sacrifices to make sure that their child is present. Absence from a dress rehearsal must be avoided without prior approval from the Children’s Choirs Coordinator.
Security
Your child’s security is of utmost importance in all children’s ministries at VGBC. It is our policy to release children third grade and under ONLY to their parents. Please help our directors enforce this policy and pick up your children in a timely manner at the end of the choir session.
Schedule
Children’s Choir rehearsals are 4:30 – 5:45 each Sunday unless otherwise noted. Please check our website regularly for any changes to our schedule and important rehearsal notes.
