Greetings Students!
Last week we had a very productive planning meeting. I want to let you know some of the decisions that were made in this meeting for those that missed it.
Sunday School – We are not making any changes to Sunday School. We did discuss the need to be mindful of those that are visiting the class. It is very easy and comfortable to come to Sunday School and just converse with your friends. The problem with this is that some people (especially visitors) are not talked to at all. This is not good for the future of the class, and is not the image of Christ we desire to project. So, please be mindful of those around you on Sunday. Be friendly! Make everyone feel welcome!
Thursday Night Bible Study – We discussed what should be done about this weekly event. I have given thought of ending it. Others expressed the desire to continue the time together. Either way, I will no longer be able to lead it on a consistent basis. Therefore, This Thursday night (January 31) we will meet at the regular time to discuss what will be done with it. My feeling is that if it is to continue, it will have to be primarily student led. This may be something we can connect with the College Choir starting this week too.
College Choir – This choir/ensemble will begin this Thursday night at 6:00pm. And will meet each week from now on. Depending on what is done with the College Bible Study, the time may shift slightly. We will keep you posted.
Planned Events:
February 2 - College & Career Men's Bible Study begins, meeting every Saturday at 9:30 am, Room 174.
February 3 – Super Bowl Party – 5:00pm – Shaun & Dori O’Brien’s House - 1687 Maxwell St Colorado Springs, CO 80906-5645 BRING FOOD!!!
February 5 – Lunch Bunch – 12:00 noon at The Egg & I, NE Corner of Powers & Barnes. No agenda, just lunch.
February 10 – Service Project Planning Time – We will meet following church to plan out some ways we can be involved in service/ministry projects this year. Come with ideas. Lunch will be provided.
March 2 – Winterjam Concert – If you would like to go see all the bands that will be at this concert, contact Shaun & Dori today!!! It will be awesome!
March 4 – Lunch Bunch – 12:00 noon at Bhan Thai, NE corner of Galley & Academy. No agenda, just lunch.
March 7-9 – Spring Retreat – we will have more information on this soon. The topic will be: The Process of Discipleship.
April 1 – Lunch Bunch – 12:00 noon at Big City Burrito, downtown somewhere… No agenda, just lunch.
April 11-13 – Mystery Road Trip – That’s all I can tell you about this… Where we are going and what we will be doing is a mystery! I’ll give you a list of things to bring and the time to show up, etc… Everything else is secret.
May 6 – Lunch Bunch – 12:00 noon at Chicago Hot Dog, no idea where this is… but I’ll find out before this date. No agenda, just lunch.
May 18 – Planning Lunch – 12:15 pm at the church – we will plan out all the remaining activities for the 2008 year.
June 18-20 – Camping – Lost Creek Wilderness – more info soon.
July 26 – Denver Day – We will go to Denver and do an assortment of fun things. (No Broadway shows!)
September 1 – Labor Day Party - Shaun & Dori O’Brien’s House - 1687 Maxwell St Colorado Springs, CO 80906-5645 BRING FOOD!!!
