Based on Psalms 139:14, tween girls ages 8 to 12 will blossom into the custom made person God wants her to be through learning Biblical truth, Christian character, practical life skills, and mission service one Saturday morning each month during the school year.

2010-2011 Theme:  Made For Friendship

Learning about friendship doesn't happen all at once. It's a process. This next year, we’ll use The Christian Girl's Guide to Friendship to learn how to have fantastic friends and be one too!  We’ll use devotions from “What’s A Girl To Do? Finding Faith In Everyday Life” for Character Chic-Chat.  Both books can be reviewed at www.christianbook.com.

Custom Made Slumber Party Reaches Out to 86 Girls
 
You heard lots of giggles January 15th and 16th as 86 girls, 2nd to 6th graders, came to the church for the Custom Made Slumber Party.  This was a great outreach opportunity since about 1/3 of the girls aren't VGBC members.  Click here to enjoy more pictures.

The girls learned how God made them beautiful inside and out through devotionals and activities.  They also learned about important manners and "What Not to Wear" in order to maintain modesty.  Fun erupted with a PJ party complete with spa stations and a treasure hunt.  The girls worked on three "Salt Shaker" (mission service) projects making 19 blankets and thank you cards for the Crisis Pregnancy Center, starting to knit scarves for Afghan kids and creating Food Drive posters for Northern Church Care (more details coming in February). 
 
Many thanks to the church for donations, our church staff for help with set-up and the awesome team of women who dedicated their time to spend important moments with the girls.  Last, but not least, a BIG thank-you to Pastor Greg who provided security and support during our overnight stay.

Key Components of “Custom Made”

Made To Worship
Each time, we’ll focus on a Biblical truth with a short Bible study and worship time.
 
Character Chit Chat
This year, we’ll use the book, “A Christian Girl’s Guide to Being Your Best” to share important character traits. Plus, we’ll teach some manners every girl needs to have.
 
Made To Learn and Have Fun
During these rotations, your child will learn important, practical and fun life skills by ladies in our church gifted in the subject.
 
Made To Be A Salt Shaker
Each time, we’ll spend the last hour for girls to serve others in fun ways.
