Southern Baptist Mission Information

The State Mission Offering is named after Nicy Murphy, Colorado Woman's Missionary Union Director from 1956 - 1968. During her eleven years, she traveled the state, organizing the work of women and conducted assembly programs for WMU. The Nicy Murphy Offering, held state-wide every September, provides finances for starting new churches, and support of Colorado Baptist missionaries.

Southern Baptists have a long-standing commitment to Foreign Missions. One of the primary ways that Southern Baptist support Foreign Missions is through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Lottie Moon, after whom the Foreign Missions Offering is named, was a wonderful Christian servant. For forty years (1873-1912) she served as a Southern Baptist Missionary to China. Her commitment to foreign missions, her love for Christ, and her passion to serve stand as an abiding testimony to all who commit to service in God's work.

Southern Baptist have a long-standing commitment to Home Missions as well. One of the primary ways that Southern Baptist support Foreign Missions is through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Annie Armstrong, after whom the Home Missions Offering is named, provided the inspiration and drive for Southern Baptists to commit to a ministry of Missions at home, in America. Her work with minorities and Indians establishes an example for each of us to minister at home with those in need.
