Month At A Glance - May, 2008
Dear Church Family:
Our Children’s Choirs will lead us in worship on Sunday evening, May 4 at 6:00 pm. Our last Fellowship Dinner will be on Wednesday, May 7 and that is also AWANA Awards Night.
Following their monthly breakfast, the Men's Ministry is sponsoring an Auto Service Day on Saturday, May 10, starting at 9:00 am. The service will include oil and filter change as well as checking fluid levels and windshield wipers. This free service is available to seniors, widows, single moms and spouses of deployed military. It will be held at Advance Auto on Powers Blvd, opposite the church. Please call the church office to make your reservation.
Also on Saturday, May 10, the Ladies Friendship Tea begins at 1:00 pm. This elegant luncheon tea will feature beautiful music, inspirational speakers and a photo area. Little ladies 3 and up are welcome to attend, and childcare will be available for children 12 and under. Tickets to this free event will be available at the Information Booth on April 27 and May 3. We wish all moms a very Happy Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 11.
Senior Recognition Day is Sunday, May 18. Seniors will be recognized during the AM worship services and the church family is invited to a reception in their honor from 4:30 – 5:30 pm in the Youth Wing. You’ll have the chance to visit with the seniors and enjoy the memory tables they have set up to showcase their high school years. The Celebration Choir (Adult Choir) will present a Choral Worship Concert that evening at 6:00 pm.
VBS Teacher Training begins on May 21 at 6:30 pm. Volunteers and learners can register online.
There will be no afternoon or evening activities on Sunday, May 25. The church office will be closed on Monday, May 26 in honor of Memorial Day. The Youth Bible Study, Freedom, will close out on Wednesday, May 28. Please be in prayer for the Mime Team as they go on tour to Texas beginning Friday, May 30.
VBS flyers will be distributed to our neighbors beginning at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 31. The Men’s Ministry is holding their 2nd annual Golf Tournament at Springs Ranch Golf Course starting at 10:00 am. For more information, please contact Jack Van Wieren.
Looking ahead, the next Artist Series Concert will feature Greg Long and his sister, Amy Markakis in a two piano concert on Sunday, June 1 at 6:00 pm.
