Worship is a central act of the Church. At Vista Grande music is a primary tool in our worship. The purpose of music is to facilitate the people’s expression of praise and adoration. God is the God of infinite variety. In our music worship we seek to emulate that variety using resources from a large spectrum of genres to contribute to a vibrant worship experience.

We utilize songs that have stood the test of time, songs that have become standards in just the last few years, and songs that may only be for today but help us to communicate with God nevertheless. This pattern of planning enables us to worship together, across the generations, through music. Our heart’s desire is to worship God the way He wants to be worshiped. We invite you to worship with us through music, drama, and the declaration of the Word.

William Harness in Concert - Sunday, August 8 at 6:00 pm

“William Harness is a singer with unusual talent. He has a four octave range which allows him to sing from low bass to high tenor. William has a love for many different styles of music. He travels the world to reach people for his Savior. He and his wife, Marie, are currently celebrating their 30^th anniversary of the ministry!”   

Our Celebration Choir will be joining with Mr. Harness in concert.  William has been with us before and his heart and great talent were a rich blessing.  Bring your friends and join us in this opportunity to enjoy a unique musical ministry.  A love offering will be taken at the end of the concert and CD's will be available for sale in the foyer.

God has blessed the Music and Drama Ministries of Vista Grande with many talented people.  VGBC member Lynn Allan has begun a ministry of taking pictures on Sunday mornings and evenings and making them available to the people sharing their gifts with the congregation.  If you would like to download a photo, click on the individual picture and there will be a download link underneath the picture.  If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail Lynn.

Celebration Adult Choir
The adult choir sings during the 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 am Worship services, with special performances for Christmas and Easter.  The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm during the school year.

Youth Choir
The youth choir is open to youth in grades 6-12. Both choirs rehearse on Sundays at 3:45 pm during the school year. Forgiven, the Middle School Choir, meets in Room 134 and Alive, the High School Choir, meets in the Worship Center.  If you would like more information on Youth Choir opportunities, please e-mail Jay Hill, Minister of Music. 

Children's Choirs
We offer choirs for the following age groups: Preschool, Kindergarten, Music Makers (1st - 3rd grade) and Young Musicians (4th & 5th grade). Each group meets on Sundays during the school year from 4:30 - 5:45 p.m.

During the course of the 2009-2010 choir year we will continue to develop and implement a strong music education aspect to the program.  We want to fulfill our responsibility to raise up the next generation of church musicians. Ensembles 
A variety of small ensembles and soloists frequently perform in our worship services.

We also have two handbell choirs that meet during the school year. The Bells of Vista Grande participate in the Southern Colorado Handbell Festival, held every February.

Highlights from the VGBC Christmas Dessert Theater presentation of God With Us

The VGBC Christmas Dessert Theater treated us to four wonderful performances on December 10 – 13, attended by over 800 people. The weekend of ministry required the services of over 150 people, each fulfilling their role in order to faithfully tell the story of God in Jesus coming to be with us.
