College & Youth Interns

WHAT IS AN INTERN?

An intern is a leader. This person is part of a team, which is focused on a common goal and a desire to see things happen. It takes a team to make a difference in the lives of young people. Why? Because many youth have different desires at different times. Sometimes students need someone who is calm and stable while at other times, they need a person with a lot of energy to help them feel excited and accepted. By utilizing the gifts and strengths God has given us, we are able to reach out to more students.

COLLEGE INTERNS

  • The college interns assist with reaching out to our youth by developing relationships through calls, visits, leadership at church, and youth trips.
  • College interns help with games and assorted tasks on Wednesday nights, assist with fellowships and trips, and help teach when needed. Additionally, some interns teach Sunday school alongside other adults.
  • Essentially, they are an extension of our youth ministry. They do not take the place of adults but serve as additional guides for the teenagers of Colorado Springs.

YOUTH INTERNS

  • The youth interns predominantly serve during the summer; however, they continue to be leaders in activities and events, such as Freedom, during the school year.
  • Some of their summer responsibilities include planning Wednesday nights and fellowships, making calls and visits, encouraging one another, and faithfully attending church.
  • Youth interested in interning will fill out an application and be interviewed by the youth staff in March.
