Eagle Project at the Church Interested in helping with some landscaping improvement at the church? Noah Giles, one of our church members, will be working on his BSA Eagle Scout project on Saturday, July 20, and would be happy to have your help. He will be landscaping around the two storage sheds with rock & mulch and installing a short concrete sidewalk from the doors to the parking lot. Join us any time from 8 am – 4 pm; lunch will be provided.
OCC Shoebox Wrapping We are wrapping shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child and you can lend a helping hand during the month of July! Join us Tuesdays, from 9 am-noon or 1-4 pm. Questions? Contact Jo Root at 661-6080.
VGBC Children’s Choir Volunteers Share the love of music with kids this coming school year through the Children’s Choir! We still need a few helpers to assist lead teachers each Sunday night. Contact christilynn@rocketmail.com for more info.
Our Ireland Missionaries Mark, Lona, Madeleine, & Ian Webb, will be in Colorado Springs from July 17—August 14. Join us for a come-and-go reception, Sunday, July 21, from 2-4 pm. Please take this opportunity to stop by and say hello; they would love to see you!
All Church Picnic The church family is invited to a time of food, fun, and fellowship at a picnic on the church grounds, Sunday, July 14. Activities will start at 3:00 pm! Join in the fun: there will be a dunking tank (which minister shall we submerge first?) and a volleyball tournament (sign up by Sunday school class). The church will provide pulled pork, buns, and beverages. If you plan to attend, please make a reservation at the info booth now through July 7. Bring a dish to share (serving 10-12 people) according to the first letter of your last name: A-H salad (i.e. jello, green, slaw, pasta, and raw veggies); I-P vegetable (i.e. baked beans, green beans, corn, any potato dish); Q-Z dessert. Please have your dish at the church between 4:15 and 4:45 pm; we will begin serving dinner at 5:00.
Youth Wing Door Access Beginning Sunday, July 21, the doors to the Youth Wing, including the metal door leading to the east parking lot, will be locked from 9:15-10:30 and 11:00-12:30. This is in an effort to continue to provide for a safe environment for all our members and visitors while attending the worship services or Sunday school. During those times, the only access to the building will be the main entrance and the double doors on the east side of the building by the playground. Thank you for your understanding to this matter. -VGBC Security Committee
