DEACONS OF THE WEEK     Oct 28-Nov 3
The following deacons are available for you to contact with any ministry needs:

Mike Arnett and Cory Dugan: (719-598-2139)

Short-Session Business Meeting A short-session business meeting will be held following this evening’s Town Hall Meeting for the purpose of considering nominations from the Nominating Committee.   Fill a Shoebox for OCC Christmas is about sharing the gift of God’s Son, Jesus Christ!  You can share Christ with needy children around the world by taking part in Operation Christmas Child, a missions project of Samaritan’s Purse.  Help spread joy and peace to hurting children by filling shoeboxes, which are located by the Greeter’s Desk.  National Collection Week is this week, November 12-19!   Angel Tree You can give joy to a prisoner’s child this Christmas through Angel Tree!  Angel Tree is a program that reconciles families by giving prisoners a chance to provide Christmas presents for their children with local churches as the go-between.  VGBC has been assigned over 60 children who all live in this surrounding area.  We need volunteers to buy and wrap, sort, and deliver gifts.  Visit the info booth next Sunday to choose one or more children to purchase gifts for or to volunteer.  Questions?  Contact Emily Knuckles at 235-6946.

Mexico Mission Burrito Fundraiser You can help support the 2019 Mexico Mission trip!  Breakfast burritos will be ready for purchase Sunday, November 11.  Visit the info booth today to place your order.  All proceeds go directly for the purchase of building materials to construct homes for needy families in Juarez.

Thanksgiving Baskets The deacons will be distributing Thanksgiving baskets again this year.  If you or someone you know would benefit from a basket, please contact Karen or Gwen in the church office.  Please provide the name of the individual or family, a phone number, an address, and the number of family members.  Names will be collected through Nov. 13.   Perspectives Course Learn to be a part of God’s plan to be loved by all people!  Join us at FBC Black Forest on Monday nights, starting Jan. 14, 2019, 6-9 pm.  Visit the info booth today!   Sunday Service Web Streaming Weekly web streaming of our 10:45 am Sunday service is provided at www.vgbc.org/sermons1.  The camera will mainly capture activity on the stage excluding baptism and invitation time.  Those sitting in the front middle section could be in view at times.

Mexico Mission Trip Meeting Looking to serve God through a short-term mission trip?  We will partner with Casas por Cristo in March 2019 to build homes for  deserving families and hold a VBS, in Juarez, Mexico.  If you are middle school age to senior adult, please join us for an informational meeting, Sunday, November 11, 2:00 p.m. in room 177.  Click to view previous trips.

Thanksgiving Potluck & Fellowship You’re invited to an All Church Potluck Dinner, Sunday, November 18, at 6:00 pm.  The church will provide the ham and beverages.  Bring a dish to share (serving 10-12 people) according to the first letter of your last name:  A-H, salad (i.e., jello, green, slaw, pasta; raw veggie plate); I-P, vegetable dish (i.e., baked beans, green beans, corn, any potato dish); Q-Z, dessert.  Reservations are required.  Click to sign up
