Sojourners

Sojourners
Sermon Series by Dr. Chris Moore

We are living in a challenging time as we experience the coronavirus and its impact on our world.  During a season like this, we must learn to place ourselves under God’s Word and let Him speak to us and tell us what we need to hear.  1 Peter addresses God’s people who are experiencing challenges.  The main message of this letter is to stand firm as sojourners because our hope is greater than this world.  As we go through this book, we are encouraged to stand firm and remain faithful.  We are reminded our hope is certain and this world is not our ultimate home.  We are sojourners.

The Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments
Sermon Series by Dr. Chris Moore

Most Christians would probably say the ten commandments are a top priority, and many Christians would say it is important to continue to display of the commandments in public places such as courthouses.  Sadly, we don’t see that same passion for actually learning and studying the commandments or teaching them to our children.  In this series, we return to this foundational teaching as we look at a different command each Sunday.

Finding Joy

Finding Joy
Sermon Series by Dr. Chris Moore

We seem to be living in a time when we are not hearing a lot of good news.  How should we respond?  It is not an option for God’s people to despair.  The circumstances surrounding the writing of Philippians are not great either.  Paul is imprisoned as he writes, and the church is experiencing its own challenges.  Yet we see references to joy or rejoicing throughout.  Many have referred to this book as the New Testament letter of joy.  As we go through this letter, we will discover how we can experience authentic joy in this life even in the midst of the difficult circumstances and bad news.

Kingdom Stories

Kingdom Stories
Sermon Series by Dr. Chris Moore

In this sermon series, we are going through the parables of Jesus.  Of all the words of Jesus that are recorded for us, 35% were spoken in parables.  One reason Jesus used stories to communicate is because He was a master at communicating.  He knew that we love stories.  He had the ability to draw people into a story, and then drive home the point.  As we look at the parables we will become better equipped for life in the Kingdom of God.
