Missions Requests

Week of 26 Jul 2020

HOME MISSIONARIES

Emily Skinner: (COS) Mission Training International (MTI) has now successfully hosted two DAR (debriefing) programs since the coronavirus closed their doors.  And this past week their first Compass program started since March.  There will be many new things as they observe new health guidelines to ensure they do not transmit the virus to others.  Pray for Emily and her co-workers as they divide participants into cohorts, wear masks and how to serve snacks.  Much of the Compass curriculum depends on connecting.  Connecting is difficult while wearing masks and social distancing.  Pray for the workers.

Jonathan Ferre:  (COS) Pray for Jonathan and his wife Myrna as they minister to their church family and as he works to support his family.  Pray for their raising of their family – Myrna is home schooling their children.  Pray the Lord would encourage them and strengthen them in their labor of love.

FOREIGN MISSONARIES

Oswald, Amanda and family: Little Smoky came home from the hospital this past week.  The doctor believes his eating and digestive tract are at a good level.  Pray for his full recovery and that he gets back to his normal, healthy self!  Pray for their travel plans as they plan to come to Colorado later in August.

Robbyn Booker: (COS/Spain) During the timeframe of January through April, Twelve Arabic women gave their lives to Christ.  Pray for the ministry partners on the ground in their area as they follow-up with these women and disciple them.  Praise God for the positive response in the Middle East to a special social media event addressing depression.  They also discovered a group learning English, but also suffering from isolation.  Both of these groups have formed and are having spiritual conversations.  Pray God would water the seeds planted during these spiritual conversations.

Amanda Peck: (North Macedonia) Pray for Amanda as she prepares to leave North Macedonia.  She will be closing out

her apartment, utility accounts and making travel arrangements.  There will be difficult goodbyes to the ladies at Lydia and

her church family.

Mark and Lona Webb: (Killarney, Ireland) Grace Baptist Church is meeting in person again! They also continue to Zoom their service for those who feel safer at home.  During the time when the church met on Zoom on Sunday mornings, one attender who previously only met during Bible study on Wednesday evenings started “attending” the Sunday morning Zoom service.  Now that the church is meeting in person again this person has begun attending in person.  Pray for this person as they seek the Lord!

K and B: Pray for company leadership as they consider options to restructure reaching the lost in Asia.  Pray for K and B as they develop strategy how to best use the manpower they have been assigned.  Pray for K and B’s lives of service – that they would seek God’s will in their lives.  Pray they will trust their lives and their use to God’s care and plans.

Herb and Celeste: Herb and Celeste have been in the US one week.  Pray for their rest as they deal with jet lag.  Pray for the visa application process and that the Lord would be present every step of the process.  Pray H and C and their paperwork will find favor with their host government to approve their visa application quickly so they can get back to the Lord’s assignment for them.  Pray H and C’s quarantine for the next week goes safely.
