December 20, 2020 Missions Prayers/Praises

One hundred percent of the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering goes to funding International Mission Board missionaries overseas.  The VGBC goal for this offering is $100,000.  Please pray about helping to keep our missionaries on the mission field.

HOME MISSIONARIES

Emily Skinner: (COS) Emily is truly grateful for your prayers and financial support this past year.  Please consider a special gift for Emily this season.  She is realizing she needs an immediate financial lift.  Please call Mission Training International or simply e-mail Emily for the best way to expedite a special gift!  Her email address is eskinner@mti.org.  Please pray for rest and refreshment as MTI prepares for next year.  Emily is planning to travel for the holidays.  Pray for safe and healthy trip.  Continued prayers for Emily’s fundraising.

Life Network: (COS) Please pray for their clients who have made a decision to follow Him. Pray that they would continue to have opportunities for discipleship. Pray for the health and protection of each child that is represented in their parenting education program. Pray for each family this Christmas season, that God would touch their hearts with His message of hope that came in a manger!

Mercy’s Gate: (COS) Mercy’s Gate emphasizes keeping their “neighbors” in their homes every Christmas season.  Because of the pandemic, this emphasis began in August and continues.  They have been helping neighbors with rent and mortgage assistance to help people stay in their homes.  Please consider helping them raise an additional $26,500 to help them help their neighbors stay in their homes!  Donate online at How To Donate – Mercy’s Gate (mercysgatecs.org) or mail to Mercy’s Gate, PO Box 26416, Colorado Springs, CO 80936.

FOREIGN MISSIONARIES

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering:  The LMCO is now is full swing!  This special offering goes straight to our missionaries all over the world.  Please consider providing several gifts over this Christmas season to help us with our goal of $100,000!

K and B:  In their 15 plus year career as missionaries in East Asia K and B have established a normal routine day to day to help them use their time and serve the Kingdom wisely!  This past three year term has been challenging – the last twelve months has been a lifetime of ministry!  In less than twelve months alone they have had to confront two security breaches, worldwide pandemic and the deaths of several colleagues in the prime of their ministry.  They’ve given up their previous team of missionaries, and assumed leadership of a new and diverse team reaching many new unreached people groups in an area a little larger than the state of Georgia!  Pray for K and B as they leave their ministry for a six month home assignment in the US.  Pray for their physical safety as they take five different aircraft flights to get home.  Pray for their quarantine time as they hunker down here in the States.  Pray for their new team as many of them await visa paperwork to get to their assigned areas and for their safety in travel.  Pray K and B can rest and decompress from the roller coaster ride of the last twelve months.

Herb and Celeste:  The Discover East Asia virtual tour produced by Herb and Celeste’s team went very well!  The target audience was Southern Baptist Churches in South Carolina.  Pray many churches will step up to help share Christ in East Asia.  Pray for Herb and Celeste’s team as they ask the Lord for guidance on how to tell missionary stories in East Asia.  Pray hearers of the word would also turn into doers of the word when it comes to sharing Christ with the people of East Asia!  Pray they and their team would be aligned with God’s will and plans.  Pray this Christmas season will prompt spiritual conversations with people who need to understand the real reason for the season!

Mark and Lona Webb: (Killarney, Ireland) Praise that Madeleine is still doing well at her seasonal work. The brother-in-law of one of the ladies in the church has died.  All of her sisters are not believers and she has witnessed to them and prayed for them for decades.  Continued prayers for the families of the members of Grace Baptist that are unsaved.

Robbyn Booker: (COS/Spain) Prayers that Reach Beyond has found vital use and funding for land in Spain with their “Fast Track” program.  Please continue praying for Vida Radio, they have managed to stay on the air through an extensive library of programs.  Another huge praise is that the generator that VGBC raised money for has been installed and is providing a strong constant signal.   Pray for the lockdown in Madrid to be lifted so that the new board of directors can get papers filed in a timely manner.
