Applying the Gospel: Response

In the final sermon of this series, we talk about how we should respond to the gospel and we discover several benefits if we have responded to the gospel with faith.  If I am trusting in Christ, I have a new relationship, a new identity, and a new power.  We learn why this should encourage us and motivate us to live lives that are worthy of all God has done for us in the gospel.

    Applying the Gospel: Christ

In this sermon we return to one of the most important passages.  We emphasize God’s solution to our sin problem, which is Jesus Christ and His cross.  We discover Jesus has succeeded where I have failed, He proves God loves me, and He is everything I need.  We talk about what difference these truths should make for us practically.

    Applying the Gospel: Man

In this sermon, we focus on the second part of the gospel, man and his sin.  We discover several key principles we can draw out and apply to our lives.  We learn that we should value all people as God does, even when it’s difficult.  We learn that we deserve less, and so we live as people who are grateful and quick to show mercy.  We learn that we are in need, and why this should affect the way we live.  We talk about how God has met our need and how we can practically apply these great gospel truths.

    Applying the Gospel: God

In this sermon, we focus on the beginning of the gospel, God the King.  We discover several fundamental lessons from our text that we can apply to our lives.  For example, God is King and I am not.  Also, God is in control and He is good.  We learn practically how to take these gospel truths about God and apply them to real life challenges and struggles we face every day.
