Welcome to our AWANA pages.  We are looking forward to a great year of missions, games, memorizing God's Word, and learning more about Him.

We invite you to learn about our programs, which begin with Cubbies for 4 year olds, and continue through 6th grade. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:15 – 8:00 pm during the school year. If you have additional questions, please contact me at greg.teel@vgbc.org.

Awana Update - June, 2010

The last quarter of AWANA we averaged 146 clubbers and 44 leaders.  We finished off the year with mission nights, learning about Brazil and Mexico.  We also had fun nights of wacky hair and "measles"!

On May 12, we had our Awards Night with a slideshow of pictures taken throughout the year. Each club presented verses and/or songs they have learned this year.  There were many awards given including Timothy, Meritorious, and Citation.  This year we handed out many Bibles to clubbers that did not have them and a couple made decisions to accept Jesus.  It was a great year of seeing clubbers hide God's Word in their hearts.

The AWANA Club Night Schedule is available for 2009/2010 school year. Read More
About AWANA

Awana is an international, Bible-centered children's and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for preschool through 6th grade. Our goal is to reach children and preteens, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.

Awana meets every Wednesday night during the school year from 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Awana balances games with scripture memory and scripture related activities to provide an entertaining, yet instructive 90 minutes for children and youth.  At VGBC we have incorporated a Missions Education emphasis through Awana by participating in various mission projects throughout the year.  These mission projects are optional for every clubber and they do not change the Awana curriculum in any way.

At VGBC we have the following programs in place (click links for more detail about each club):

Girls and Boys age four (one year before entering Kindergarten)
Girls and Boys in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades
Girls and Boys 3rd - 6th grades
