Church Childcare Policy:
All requests for church provided childcare must be submitted to the church office at least 2 weeks in advance of the event. Greg Teel, Minister of Childhood Education, will need the names, ages, parents’ names, and allergies for each child no later than one week in advance of the event.

All events, other than ongoing scheduled church activities, will require a minimum of three children.  Please feed your child before or after the event unless prior approval is given by the Minister of Childhood Education. No evening events will have childcare after 8:30 p.m. and we do not provide childcare for children over the age of 11.

June 8 Business Meeting Report  / Upcoming Children's Events

  • Sunday School is staying steady, averaging 100 in Preschool and 153 in K-5. Our first year with the Faithweaver Curriculum from Group Publishing in Loveland has been well received by the children and parents.
  • Preteen Ministry at the 10:45am hour is averaging 25 students. They recently completed “How to Study the Bible” from Precept Ministries, designed to equip them to have personal tools to feed themselves God’s Word!  This ministry is going strong with Kids Kamp and VBS being the next major events.
  • Preschool Ministry is going well. We are exploring a Mother’s Day Out program option over the next year. Please be in prayer about this exciting opportunity.
  • VBS June 9-13, Outrigger Island We had the Family Fun Carnival on Saturday June 7. Training has taken place and VBS begins tomorrow!
  • MinistryCare Notice of Requirements:  Notification of an upcoming event MUST be scheduled no less than 14 days in advance with Cheryl in the front office.  In addition, 7 days prior to the event, the coordinator must e-mail Greg Teel the number of kids, their names and parents’ names, and allergies. If Greg does not have this info, the church staff will not provide the childcare!
  • Children’s Church is solid and strong, averaging 65 a week.
  • AWANA Awards night was an opportunity for me to share the Gospel for those who may not come to church, but were here for their children.  The club averaged 175 each week for the year.  Thank you to the Lovisones for their work; they will be our Commanders for another year while training a new couple to take their place in 2009-2010.
  • Seminary break for me during the summer. I am signed up for two New Testament classes this fall.
  • Kids Kamp June 23-26 at Ponderosa  where I will serve as Camp Director (like an MC), and take seven sponsors with me. We are looking to have 100-200 kids at that time. We will radically improve the organizational and spiritual dimensions of this ministry. Our theme is “Christ Nation”, calling kids to impact their world for the Lord. The cost is $150.00 per child. Rick Bowen and Stephanie Small will be contributing to camp with their photography and sound technical work. Thanks to both of them! Please be in prayer about what God is calling these children to do in their commitment to Him and in their future lives (52% of all ministers surrendered to a call into ministry during a camp experience!).
  • Hoops for Hope July 7-11 for children ages K-5, held evenings on VGBC grounds.   I am looking to use this as an outreach tool and would like to have 50-60 kids in the camp; as this is the first year, it may start smaller. Our main needs from the church are 10 people who will coach that week. We also need to canvas the neighborhoods a month before with flyers. Please see me if you might be interested in coaching!

In Him and for His Kids,

Greg Teel
Minister of Childhood Education
