Psalm 30 is a thanksgiving psalm that combines elements of praise and lament. The psalmist looks to the past at a time when he was in despair and he cried to the Lord for help, and he praises God for hearing and answering him. All of God’s people share this same story: we once were lost but now we’re found. We discover why we have reason and motivation to be humble, and praise, and give thanks.
