The Inn at the End of the World
This is a setting of a classic poem by G.K. Chesterton. He uses some archaic and poetic language to convey a couple of thoughts. First, in the cold and darkness of winter the Christmas celebration comes, and in the cold and darkness of our lives Christ comes. Second, every search for our ultimate meaning and purpose ends at the manger and the cross. Thus, the Inn in Bethlehem is the Inn at the end of the world. It is similar to the familiar carol about Bethlehem, “The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.”

Angel Tree
You can give joy to a prisoner’s child this Christmas through Angel Tree! This ministry reconciles families by giving prisoners a chance to provide Christmas presents for their children with local churches as the go-between. VGBC has been assigned children who live in the surrounding area. We need volunteers to buy and wrap, sort, and deliver gifts. Visit the info booth today!

2019 Contributions
All 2019 contributions to VGBC need to be delivered to Kim Carmichael at the church office no later than noon on Tuesday, December 31, or be postmarked by December 31. Contributions submitted after this time will be applied toward 2020 contribution statements.

Christmas Cards
