DR. CHRIS MOORE

Pastor

Contact Me

Chris serves as Pastor of Vista Grande Baptist Church.  His primary responsibilities include preaching, teaching, shepherding, and providing leadership.  Chris and Whitney met in the 8th grade in Conway, Arkansas.  They were married in 2002, and they have four children: William, Annabelle, Nathan, and Brooklyn (the only true Colorado native in the family!). Chris has served churches in Arkansas and Texas.  He graduated from the University of Central Arkansas, and he earned a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.  Chris is passionate about Biblical preaching and leading the church to be shaped by God’s Word.  He enjoys equipping “the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
His favorite Bible passage is probably whatever text he is preaching that week.  If you forced him to only choose one text, he would go with Romans 1:16. The family enjoys any opportunity to go and play in the mountains, but they especially enjoy skiing.  They watch the Broncos, but they yell for the Razorbacks!

JAY HILL

Minister of Music

Jay began serving at Vista Grande Baptist Church in January 2006. He plans, leads, and administrates all facets of our Worship Ministry including choirs for all ages, orchestra, hand bells, and our drama teams. His most significant music role is in planning and leading our Sunday morning worship services. Two principles form the foundation of the music ministry. We must find a way to worship together across the generations, and we must train up the next generation of church musicians. Our morning worship services are identical, prayerfully designed to give the whole congregation the opportunity to worship. Our choral/vocal program begins at age four with an emphasis on music and worship education.

On a personal note, Jay married Jerri Naul in 1983. They have three grown children: Jessica, who lives in Cheltenham, PA; Jason, who resides in Westminster, CO with his wife, Kelsey; and Janette, who lives in Colorado Springs. Jay received a BS degree in Education in 1982 from New Mexico State University and a Master of Music degree in 1990 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served on the pastoral staff of three churches: First Baptist, Las Cruces, New Mexico; Bethel Baptist (Baker Creek Community), McMinnville, Oregon; and Vista Grande. In his spare time Jay is a bit of a do it yourselfer working around the house or on one of the cars. When time allows, he is an amateur woodworker, and he loves to read simply for the pleasure of the written word.

DR. DEVIN KNUCKLES

Minister of Administration

Contact Me

Devin began serving as Minister of Administration at Vista Grande Baptist Church in September of 2014. He and his wife, Korin, have six children.
Devin brings experience from the nonprofit world as well as the private sector. He served a large nonprofit as the Assistant to the President for Community Relations and also was the Director of HR for a government contractor. He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity degree from Master’s International University of Divinity.

Devin’s ministry philosophy is adamant that ministry not elevate the experience over truth. The preeminence of Christ and of the Word must be the center of ministry. People must be nurtured and established in the faith through Christ-centered ministry. He believes ministry should first and foremost call individuals to connect with God’s family through faith in Christ and then communicate God’s grace through the teaching of the Word so their faith can grow; provide grace centered community; provide opportunities to serve and discover their God-given gifts and calling; provide opportunities to share Christ’s love and multiply their faith; and challenge and encourage them to godly living, authentic worship, and love for one another. Devin’s goal is that people will come to realize “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3)

The Knuckles family enjoys road trips, “wacky ball,” ice cream, and serving God’s people.

Hae Won Suh

Pastor of Korean Baptist Mission

Hae Won and his wife, Ok Chi, came to Colorado Springs in November 1978 from Seoul, South Korea. Hae Won immediately began serving as pastor of the Korean Baptist Mission (KBM) at Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado Springs with support from the Pikes Peak Baptist Association and the Colorado Baptist General Convention. He graduated from Chung-Ang University in Seoul where he earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He took ROTC courses in college and served as a Korean Army infantry officer for two years. He later graduated from Capital Baptist Seminary in Seoul.
He worked for the Korea Baptist Mission office in Seoul as an assistant business manager for the Southern Baptist missionaries from America for ten years.   As a pastor and preacher for the past forty years, he is passionate about Biblical preaching and teaching. He has baptized over 500 people over the years. It is a glorious and amazing thing that a single pastor has served at the same church for forty years; Pastor Hae Won believes this is a blessing from God and can only happen by the grace of God. His wife, Ok Chi, is a professional tailor and enjoys helping people with their fashion and tailoring needs.
